CCMC'S Mission:

Submitting to Christ, Investing in lives, Living for His glory.

Submitting to Christ. Luke 9:23-26; Romans 6:3-11, 12:1-2; Galatians 2:20.

Investing in lives. Matthew 5:14-16, 28:18-20; 1 Cor. 11:1; 2 Timothy 2:2; 1 Peter 2:9-10.

Living for His glory. Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 6:20, 10:31; Revelation 4:11.

Five Core Values

1)  Bible - We value truth centered upon the Word of God. We are committed to the Bible as the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God, and as the sole authority governing the believer's life and practice. We believe that true biblical teaching is the primary vehicle for life transformation and the key to effective disciplemaking.

2)  Gospel – We believe that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation, through the work and record of Jesus, rather than our own. The gospel is not just the “A-B-C” but the “A- to-Z” of the Christian life. This is why we are committed to preach and emphasize our need of the gospel everyday and to everyone.

3)  Worship – We believe that worship is a total life orientation to God, an engagement with God on the terms that He proposes and in the way that He alone makes possible.1 Such worship is God initiated, God centered, and God enabled. The anchor and center of discipleship at CCMC is our weekly Sunday worship where God nourishes us through His Word and the sacraments. We gather in worship to celebrate God’s grip on us, not our grip on God.

4)  Fellowship - We believe that true biblical community begins when we relate rightly with God and with each other. Life change best happens within the context of small groups. That is why we are committed to establishing fellowship communities through small groups.

5)  Mission - We know our discipleship with Jesus is maturing when we are motivated by the grace and acceptance of God to reach out to others. Practically we see the mission aspect of our discipleship on display when we pursue God’s mission by serving the community and sharing the good news of Jesus with those who do not yet follow Jesus.

Ministry Emphasis: Discipleship & Evangelism

1)  The twin emphases of ministry are discipleship & evangelism. Ministry leaders often find these two emphases to be in conflict with one another and choose to emphasize one at the expense of the other. Fortunately a third way is possible, “If we aim at experiencing Christ in our midst, we will find that we are both building up believers and challenging non-believers” (Tim Keller).

a)  These two emphases must permeate all our ministries, including worshipping through music & singing, and through afternoon tea. We seek to experience Christ in our midst.

b)  We seek to challenge and empower Christians to be committed T22 (2 Timothy 2:2) disciples of Jesus Christ, who will be committed to evangelism and reproducing disciples for Christ.

c)  We seek to be proactive and wise in creating opportunities to serve and build relationships with non-Christians, with the hope of introducing Christ into their lives, with the help of the Holy Spirit.

2)  We believe that a biblical loving, spiritual, and missional community will not develop automatically, thus we seek to intentionally cultivate such a community, the body and bride of Christ.

  1. a) We believe that the primary place to do so is through small groups, organized in various life-stage fellowship ministries. Churches do one of two things: They either practice systematic care and encouragement of the congregation or systematic neglect. Our network of small groups is the means through which we seek to practice the former. Through these small communities, we hope to cultivate a gospel community where we can practice the “one-another” teachings of the Bible, and implement our twin emphases of discipleship and evangelism.
